either they license it, or someone else develops it and licenses it.

its like the copper announcement. IBM says it can do it, then everyone and their dog comes out with a similar announcement.

from what i have heard out of IBM so far, i would not look for VLSI to be a target to them for another few years. it appears to me that the people who really need to be worried are GaAs companies.

I would be more concerned about IBM, TI, Lucent eating VLSI's lunch by leaverging complex technology and marketing power. VLSI has some good IP, but may need to at least partner if not sell out. Jim
