Re: Undervalued small caps

The Motley Fool has a good article called, "The New Nifty Fifty Correction?" at fool.com.

In addition to SBS and RadiSys, Phoenix and Award are also absurdly low. Even mid-caps like Adobe and Adaptec are being given away!

The most undervalued stock I own is Applied Films. They apply thin films to glass for LED displays and are selling at book value despite a wildly profitable year. Their earnings release is at biz.yahoo.com.

For the fiscal year ended June 27, 1998, net sales increased 55.8% to a record $53 million compared with $34 million for the year ended June 28, 1997. Net income for fiscal year 1998 increased to $2.9 million from $1.6 million for fiscal year 1997. Diluted earnings per share for fiscal year 1998 were $.85 versus $.58 for fiscal year 1997.

Other news is at biz.yahoo.com. The IPO prospectus is at EDGAR and is very useful.

I wish I was rich enough to buy all the shares and take the company private.
