David G: The other businesses actually made a few bucks. Take a look at the actual numbers. The consensus for this quarter is -0.53, not a pretty target and just 90 days ago it was -0.16, and 60 days ago -0.24. biz.yahoo.com
Why this is going up when the consensus estimates are going south is just another MU mystery. :)

With the anaylst saying MU is producing wafers at least 50% at .21um
they will show lower costs no question, especially with the spot selling at $9 + for pc100.
This is going to be interesting. Nice to see maybe a bottom after 3 years. I think Kurlak needs to re-assess his position. With Intel fueling the demand with such aggressive price cuts, this could be enough to make Q4 a blowout for pc volume and even more of a blow out for memory bit growth in Q4!! This is good to have extremely strong demand as everyone knows some of the DRAM suppliers esp from Japan will be trying to capture more business with the weak yen. But with
this extreme increase possibility in Q4, Memory could still be tight.
Thats my guess, I realize there will much argument on this, because
no one can really quantify the numbers until Q1. The spot price will be a good indicator, lets watch it , and MU will reflect some of this.
Good trading.
