DELLish3,
Your welcome.
ACI sets the price for their computers to Wal-Mart who then adds their profit margin to the price and the unit is offered on Wal-Mart web site. ACI also sells computers through Hotmail.com banner add which links people to ACI own web site.
ACI only sells computers through Wal-Mart web site not in any of their stores.
I agree that ACI is a little known computer company looking to create their own niche in the industry. The opportunity offered through Wal-Mart is a dream come true for any small computer company. What results would DELL have seen if they had such an opportunity back in the 80's?
ACI has already established themselves through Wal-Mart store sales prior to being chosen as the exclusive BTO for computers on Wal-Mart Online. The quality and reliability they proved through their store sales was a factor in being chosen by Wal-Mart for their web site BTO.
As far as being a threat to DELL BTO ACI is only trying to establish their niche in the lower priced market for PC'a and Notebooks. Looking that far into the future where ACI may be eating away at DELL sales isn't on my horizon at this time.
AMGV is entering into the internet with a powerful partner that being Wal-Mart
