Hi Mike... This is a smart move by Kinross and is in keeping with what other major gold producers are either doing or presently considering...(they are also buying back their Hedge Contracts)... They also figure that gold is now at it's low and it's only a matter time before it takes off "ballistically"...So what better time to start buying back their own shares too... Also, for what it's worth, they may also wanna make sure they own more of their own company because of what they are finding on MIQ's Railroad...heheheh Have a good one.... Regards....Ray
