Just stumbled on this thread, via INTC thread.
My CNBC wish list:
MORE OF THIS-
Bill Seidman-this is the man who has been hired by the Ministry of Finance to consult on the banking debacle-whether we like to think of it or not, the world's second largest economy is having a profound effect on Asia and invevitably our economy/stock and bond markets.
Let him talk, more than milliseconds to blurt out soundbites
Let him expand upon his predictions, and impact on world markets
Get one person to consistently interview him, preferably Insana, who can keep up with him, challenge his arguments and provide us all with more insight
Technical Analysis-I know, I know, it's all witchcraft and foolish attempts to market time; so just let those who appreciate the value of FA and TA make our own decisions, but let the TA's run the interview, not the talking heads. John Murphy is gone, Jerry Favors is flavor of the month, but has to talk like he is on methamphetamine to get any useful historical perspective and levels on the air; the people that interview the Point and Figure Charting guru just get in the way of any opportunity for a lucid discussion of the basis of this form of analysis.
FWIW Favors, Murphy(on his website) and P and F all called for the current downturn with plenty of opportunity for a change of strategy, well before Ralph Acompora. Ralphie's getting trashed for a flip-flop, but Tuesday's action did confirm a Dow Theory sell signal and many major stocks/Dow components have shown weakness that many consider significant.
I'm just another investor, trying to make sense of it all, but incorporating a global view and both TA and FA does not confuse, but clarifies my decision making.
I'd just like to see those that have a unique perspective, based upon thier own experience/research be given more time to expand and even reflect upon their earlier analysis in subsequent appearances.
I guess in the media we only get to focus on the story of the minute.
Please excuse my running on.
