Are you trying to imply that Europe isnt protecionist. GSM was set at a different standard as a protection for European industry. This is common knowledge. Its the same reason why there are few Japenese cars on the continent. Peugeut, Renault, and citroen would have been history if not for European protectionism! I will admit that IPR issue is confusing, but good legal sources have publicly stated the strong IPR case Qcom has. I had the link, but lost it! Irrespective of that ETSI needs Q's approval. Erickson and Nokia both also have said they to need Patents. So how can you say they dont. I also dont think 3 Gorillas sticking a gun to a 10 year olds head and demanding somthing is Concilliatory. Erickson and ETSI is trying to strong arm agreament from Qcom. Like anything else this is all a proccess of negotiation. In the end NOKIA and Qcom will come out winners. Qcom because of its CDMA expertise, and Nokia's early entry into CDMA. It is Erickson that I think will be the next Motanic!
