Unfortunately not. Intel is actually accelerating the IA32 architecture spins, driving to 700MHz processors in 2H 99. These are the children of Xeon. The PC and workstation market will not paricipate in IA64 (Merced/McKinley) architecture in a significant way for at least another 5 years. Intel's goal is to have that processor you bought be obsolete about 2 microseconds after your charge gets approved...

Nahh, it'll still be obsolete in the same amount of time. Might not be the processor but it'll be something. <g>

Your argument is how I convinced myself to get this computer - a P II 233 AGP 8 months ago. Still holding up OK but i hear footsteps coming.....
