OFF TOPIC..

Good point John... I am anticipating continued deflation as Asian woes continue and hundreds of billions of $$$$ are basically written off the books in Japan.

The resulting weakness will increase imports, while a strong dollar will will hurt exports and lower profits up until 2000.

The Fed will continue to infuse liquidity into the market depressing interest rates since they have no desire to repeat the ill-advised decisions of post-1929 monetary policy.

However, post-2000, I see massive inflation brought on by limited availability of goods, excessive currency, and lack of faith in paper.

Precious metals may continue to head lower in the upcoming months through the first half of 1999 on lower industrial demand and deflationary pressures. But the second half should make for interesting gains as herd starts looking to accumulate gold in anticipation of 2000.

Just my SWAG... We'll see how it plays out.

Regards,

Ron
