I have witnessed several collapses on POO and oil service stocks during the 1980s and early 1990s. In each case very persuasive arguments were made that POO and oil service stocks would remain depressed or continue sinking as far into the future as anyone could see. But these all all proved tremendous buying opportunities for PATIENT investors. This latest smash will be no different.

It's despicable! The same guy pounding the table on oil services companies when they were at their highest levels last year, now comes out today and says it may be 3 or 4 years before oil prices rebound. Unbelievable. What an idiot. Even if he's right about oil being depressed for 3 years, where was the call when these companies were 300% higher then they are today?

Can you say capitulation?

We may be nearer to the bottom then I originally thought.

Richard,
I'm way past deciding to get in. I bought a significant basket full back in late Nov and for about three weeks thought I was real smart.
I took one round of tax losses and then bought back in after 31 days. Made a little money on FGII and DO but bought back after they tumbled again.

The reason I wanted opinions on what Maxwell said was that I'm closing on a realestate sale in about two weeks and I was planning on doubling my position in many of my holdings but would reconsider if the wait is really going to be 3 - 4 years for a rebound.

With my luck, today will be the beginning of a huge run up which will be over by the time I get my cash.

Bob
