shust - Re: "Can anyone recommend a notebook computer that I could buy now for under $1750 and where I might be able to purchase it (directly from co. etc)? "

You are in LUCK !

There is a guy with the SAME NAME AS YOU who just posted a few hours ago on the Cyrix thread that he was going to buy a - get ready for this - a CYRIX-based Compaq Presario!

Now ain't that a coincidence !

You can read all the details here:

Anyone: I'm looking into buying a Compaq Presario 1230 notebook. It's a 233 MHz MediaGX&tm, 32MBram, 3.2GB hard drive, 24X cd

It's $1500. Would this be a good deal at this time? Why are similar computers that have an Intel microprocesser instead of the Cyrix a few hundred dollars more?

Thanks in advance,

shust

I suggest you get hold of this other guy shust and maybe the TWO OF YOU can get together and buy TWO Compaq Presarios - and probably get a better deal since you'll be buying two!

I guess today is your lucky day!
