Small caps are still neglected.

But there were a couple of commentators coming forward over the past three days speaking about how bad the small cap market has been for several years, how the Russell 2000 is down on the year, and how it is still too early to venture in. Well, at least it's a beginning when they start talking about it. I have also heard a few more people talking about the values that might be lurking in the small cap market.

Still, the big investors simply need shares with higher market prices and much more liquidity than most small caps can offer. It just becomes a matter of being able to get in or out of a position without badly distorting price. But some limitations to the institutions are also ones that can work in the favor of the individual investor.

Mr. Hawk told us during the conference call that we will be pleasantly surprised when we see some of the things that lie ahead. He also said that while he is spending more time meeting with fund managers and representatives from the investment community, he has to stay focused on the business model.

You are on the safe road by thinking about the steps you need to take to adjust your portfolio as circumstances change. It's good to remember that protecting capital is a lesson many people learn too late.
