Mr. Stephen Swift reports
Image Power has signed an initial agreement with Visionary Solutions (VSI) of Philadelphia, PA, to package and resell Image Power's compression technologies in the imaging toolkit market.
Visionary will provide a software interface to the Power SDK, making the integration of Image Power's compression technology seamless to VSI's new and existing toolkit developers. The JBIG2 (for black and white documents), and wavelet (for compound and color images) SDKs will be available for $5,000 (U.S.) each.
Visionary Solutions specializes in providing development tools in the areas of imaging, document management scanning, storage, and similar technologies. The company develops products for both 16-bit and 32-bit Windows platforms (Windows 3.1, Windows 95/98, Windows NT) as C/C++ DLLs, Delphi units, PowerBuilder UserObjects (PowerImage), ActiveX custom controls and Java classes. VSI has an install base of more than 30,000 currently using its products.
The Power SDK is an imaging toolkit providing application developers with powerful image compression capabilities for the transmission and storage of black and white and color documents and images. The SDKs are available directly from Image Power, and are also planned to be remarketed through other toolkit developers and publishers. Image Power released its Power SDK version 1.1 last month, and the technology has since been demonstrated to application developers and toolkit vendors. The expanding imaging toolkit market provides a wide range of development components for incorporation in Internet, CD Rom publishing, and corporate enterprise applications such as document management and Intranets.
