brian h, thanks for cyberstar web page link--very neat. [I hit the wrong button and accidentally downloaded 'shock' something or other; next thing I knew stuff was flying all over the screen. Very cool as long as my hard drive hasn't been obliterated] :)
Hughes' DirectPC came in for some massively bad publicity a few months back. Valueman had the post to some highly critical articles and even some kind of p*ssed-off users group with customers posting nasty stuff. Seems that the internet speeds provided were so high that some users were re-selling or in some way abusing their service rights. (details fade, maybe valueman can clariy) Anyway, Hughes clamped down in gorilla-like fashion setting off howls of protest. In addition, customer service was somewhere between bad and non existent (even for 'good' customers). Long story short, DirectPC got off to a real bad start. Don't know if they have corrected the problem or what. Would like a current status if you run across anything. best, mike doyle
