Hmmmm. I have no idea of how milk is priced here in CA.

At my Safeway, I can get a gallon of Safeway nonfat milk for $3.49 or 2 gallons of some off brand name for $4.35 or so, but if I want just one gallon of the off brand I have to pay $3.19 not half the two-for-$4.xx price. This is the only item in the store where I have to pay significantly more to buy a single than a double. When asked, the store clerk said it was to compete with PriceCostco, but I really wonder what is going on.....
