With the dollar continuing to rise against the yen, I think we're still a ways away from Asia turning around. The financial crisis there has built up for years. It won't be fixed in just a few months.
The fear is that the Asian currencies will be devalued, so money is rushing over to the U.S. dollar for a hedge. The more this happens, the more the dollar rises against the yen and other Asian currencies, which makes American products more expensive for the Far-East to purchase. Talking with U.S. executives around the country (and from several quarterly earnings statements), no one expects a quick turn-around in the Asian markets.
