I would hope that it was well known - but it was not addressed in analyst reports, only the traditional ''potential dayrate softness'' - doesn't look good for a management team - when they get exposed for a poor move...

I think some ''skittish'' institutions will perhaps sell and individual investors will sell; as I'm reading this as a nervous market - few have accepted these levels as the bottom. In many cases, individually I think it is - but many stocks can go lower and we are seeing a head fake IMHo - I hope otherwise, because I am a buy & hold player; but I am trading actively with 40% of my funds now - making some speculative trades - not without risks; but only in stocks I don't mind owning long term if I get caught in a downdraft... Hopefully making some 10% hits on trades like BDI, DRQ and hopefully today OMNI. With 40% of my funds riding on these individual plays at times - my upside is that in 4-6 trades I will greatly recoup a substantial amount of cash from prior averaging down losses...

I see this as a trading market - there is no reason what so ever for institutions to be making a switch here - to steady buying. Fundamentally they should be - but it would be a turn without reason...hence; I don't trust the updraft yet - and will trade individual stocks as long as this enviroment exists. Great opportunities are happening all most daily with 1 or 2 funds/institutions selling off small caps in particular - where 1 trader bailing out can dramatically over impact a stock to the downside DRQ, CDIS, BDI, OMNI are my examples here. As long as I see this activity - with 10% + easy pickings so far - I won't stop, nor will I start accross the board buying or unleash the ''margin monster''...yet ! - I now agree (temporarilly - mind you !) that it will take $15-$16 oil with an upside tick - to get this on a steady climb.
