didn't IBM INVENT the PC?

Depends on what u mean by PC.

First PC came from New Mexico by a co. called ?? later copied by IMSAI of San Francisco bay area. Both based on Intel 8080 processors. When the disk drives were introduced in 1976, CPM operating system was also introduced.

Simult. Southwest Tech products of Texas came up with a Motorola 6502 based system. All this happened in 1974-75

Then of course Apple came along in 1976 and took over the market in 1977.

MSFT offered a free 2K basic for both machines to be loaded via AUDIO CASSETTE.

Thereafter IBM came along in 1980-81 with its PC with MSFT OS.

The reason for my comment was I can't follow why Scopus would be limited to installed SAP base. Isn't SCM market pretty much wide open as of now? And I would credit Apple with the first mass market personal computer. But I did watch how some stocks reacted each time IBM introduced new model ( in the early 80's). It is kinda similar to how MANU and ITWO went to 52 week low - purely on investor fear. Whether SAP would dominate SCM area is still to be seen.
