MartinDane:

I figured you fellas already had that article, and as a visitor here I didn't want to repost info. I found it while I was trying to figure out the relationship between GSPI and Glow, which I still haven't figured out yet, so I did a powersearch on metacrawler using Gary's name. I think it is kind of funny that Dominica doesn't care about whether U.S. citizens play. They can do that, but so many other offshore sites are owned by U.S. citizens...and those folks better watch it.

And the United States Justice Department says this:

techweb.com

"Federal law clearly prohibits anyone engaged in the business of betting or wagering from using interstate and international wire communications, including the Internet and telephones, in connection with sports events," said Mary Jo White, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. "Criminals can not avoid responsibility for federal crimes by seeking refuge in offshore locations."

The six companies named in the charges were located in Curacao, Costa Rica, Antigua, and the Dominican Republic, but all of the companies' principals were U.S. citizens, officials said.

This was Posted on the WINR thread by Quahog and reposted here by MartinDane.

I am reposting it because of it's significance !!!!!!!!!

Article containing quotes made by Gary:

techweb.com

A VERY IMPORTANT QUOTE FROM THE ARTICLE;

"Possibly as soon as next week, the Caribbean island nation of Dominica will launch a casino-style Web-gambling site owned and run by the government. Other overseas policy makers, including the government
of Thailand, are exploring similar ventures, said the U.S.-based company helping Dominica launch its site."
