Dave, >>>I know of one company that is basing their entire product line on Java.<<<

I am sorry for sounding so curmudgeonly, but it is really getting tough to separate the hype from the meaningful.

Could you tell us a little bit more about this company - like who they are and what they are doing? Are they listed or about to be listed?

My initial reaction is that Java Programmers would be more expensive (little Prima Donnas) and less productive than programmers in some other language. When you say it is as good as any language - that is not such a great endorsement. Why use Java, if it could be done in another more mature language?

Please excuse my negativity. If there is anything real here, I would like to know more about it, especially from an early investment opportunity point of view.

Thanks,

Mary
