Baird,

A good question which you beat me to. Is this the turn-around, or just a sucker's rally in tech stocks?

And Andrew Vance, if it is a turn-around, in your OPINION, which stock of the following group has the potential for the best return? (And I promise not to hold you responsible for the results!)

CYMI, DPMI,ASYT, ASMLF, AMAT

Regards,

Knip

*AV*--I responded to someone last night and was shorting at the close. On the strong opening I reversed positions and covered shorts and went long. I was not fast enough to really profit by it since VECO was a killer. I have now re-established my short positions in KLAC, LRCX, NVLS, VECO and AMAT while considering PLAB and ASMLF as add in shorts.

The DD upswing seems to have started to fizzle. Cindy thinks it is due to a larger overhead in this stocks than anticipated. Either way, it is looking to be a short lived affair and may have very well been a TRADING PLAY as I alluded to. Ego would love for this to fail so my original comments about the sector ring true. but whatever the case, the DD stocks were in play today like the list suggested. Weird, ain't it.<GGG>

And finally, I am hoping this tech mini rally is juat that, a mini rally and possibly a small false rally. There is definitely quality and value here but I think we are just seeing a shift upwards in the trading ranges. We may sustain these levels but establish new high and low trading ranges until the next mini rally or mini reversal. I still think we are looking at a slow recovery and not a speedy one.
