Here's an excerpt from a Senate bill (S.1717 by Sen. Kennedy), now in subcommittee, that would move the INS along on tenprinters: thomas.loc.gov There is a companion bill introduced in the House, H.R. 3341, by Cong. Gephardt, which is also in subcommittee (i.e., not very along in the legislative process). Since the sponsors here are liberal Democrats, I don't hold out too much hope for these particular bills going through. However, sometimes elements of bills are picked up in other proposed legislation.
