What would this do for bill presentment and consolidation?

cnn.com

The Clinton administration wants all Americans to have an E-mail address to go along with their street address and is asking the U.S. Postal Service to deliver the project's backbone.

The idea is to connect physical and electronic addresses using the nation's Internet "country code" -- the top-level ".us" domain. Then a company or government agency, for example, could send bills or bulletins to your electronic mailbox as well as your home.

rather than; "CheckFree has offered a direct payment service to consumers for years - that is not at the Financial Institution's web site....."

it should really say, "Checkfree, in the past offered services directly to consumers, but now only provides such services to consumers acquired by others, like Microsoft, Intuit and the banks and financial services companies it partners with. When it strategically set about to become the trusted partner of financial services organizations Checkfree ceased marketing directly to consumers"
