I'm getting a little tired of the old farts and the bloodhound on the porch enjoying the hilarity of Ethan Allen's death a little too much.

I now know how Pavlov's dogs must have felt.

I think the most annoying part of that commercial is the pitch of the bell. They must use the actual closing bell of the NYSE, and every time it rings on the ad, I look up to the clock and order a beer thinking the market has closed. :>)

Is it just my local cable system or is anyone else a little tired of the "Now you don't play with matches, that's not cool..." and the "Let's talk about fire safety" PSA spots?

How many impressionable 2nd graders spend their days watching CNBC?

Don't you think a PSA about something like volunteering for an adult literacy program would be a little more germane?

Or would that hit some of the on-air "talent" a little too close to home? <g>

Good trading,

Tom
