Citrix allows you to run all the existing Windows killer app's from a server, while using your current infrastructure. Most people want at least a basic PC as the client, that's why I think cheap PC's fit in nicely witht the Citrix solution. And you're right, it's good for Intel since most servers for Citrix will probably be Windows NT based. (You can also run Java, but why?)
Microsoft is investing in the Citrix approach, and there appear to be millions of clients already using it.
