OOPS..correction to my last post:

"..ratio of crap to useful info will go up immensely." should have read "go down". :-)

john is a mouthy little jerk, no question about it. I read all I could of his posts in limited time available with a net connection that keeps getting cut. But imho that is all the more reason for the company to refrain from giving him the spotlight by waltzing in here and trying to control the discussion. They have the same right as anyone else to speak their mind in the open light of day on this thread. Instead they choose to hide behind lawyers. Well, that imho speaks volumes.

Interesting that nobody called bullshit on this #reply-5432587 which is so obviously a crock designed to manipulate the stock price upwards. Also interesting that nobody got suckered by it - observe the volume - people just aren't that stupid. Which, I guess, is my point.

There are those who believe that these threads could have a value beyond and above the promotion of paper to the public, and I guess I am among them. ..... cheers

Doubt it. Instead, all the crap posted by the increasing number of shorters appearing on
SI who are spreading half-truths mixed with lies will find themselves in a bind as they get
sued, and the ratio of crap to useful info will go up immensely.

IS there any evidence to suggest that shorters are somehow more prone to half-truths and lies than long players who make up the majority of thread participants? From what I see a far bigger problem is the infestation of participants thinking they are IR reps for the companies. I find those expressing 'negatives' on companies generally far more informed and realistic than the band of cheerleaders accusing any dissenters of ulterior motives.

I really fail to see how anyone could rationally believe that John's posts damaged anyones reputation. Surely everyone reading this forum is capable of understanding the nature of annonymous postings and differentiating between personal opinions, statements made out of frusteration, and real facts.

If the popularity of companies threatening posters continues to increase, scaring participants from making critical posts, surely these forums will cease to provide any usefulness whatsoever. If a company I held shares in decided to put resources into pursuing a poster who hurt managements feelings by calling them a few names I would certainly strongly reconsider my investment,

I wholeheartedly agree with Denise's well written post.

>Has this company increased shareholders value?<

>>They are trying, but you must realize this is not the same economic climate for Jrs. prior to BRE-X.<<

Wayne, from the chart it appears that they've been trying for over 4 years now, and ended up with a 20 cents stock price. Not what I would call success, do you?

Bre-X has little do with stock prices... The main effect of Bre-X is to cause difficulties with some juniors rasing capital. But then, with you fans here, this shouldn't be a problem with Antares.

Bre-X does not cause expoloration companies to drill and come up empty. There's lots of gold left in the world. Whether management knows how to find them, that's another question.

As far as I'm concern, the world is awash with gold. There are hoards of gold with the centrals banks, hoards of gold in India and China, and hoards of gold in Latin America. Gold is now a commodity, it no longer has monetary status. When the use of EURO dollar is going fine, European central banks will unload all the useless glitter to fools who still think gold is a precious metal of value. Now with Asia's economy in the dump, there is no demand for gold at the retail level, compounding the problem. Even if Antares were to discover gold, the metal is useless, and its price will continue to fall. By the time any gold ore found has been processed, there'll be millions more of shares outstanding... sold to gold bugs still living by the old paradigms, clutching on to their worthless shares, comforted by the thought that "management is trying."

>>They all monitor chat groups, especially this one because it is such a significant forum. Did you know that SI holds the number one market position for financial discussion? More than 70% of all financial discussion on the Internet over the last three years was on SI. It is one of the most trafficked Web sites in the personal finance category.<<

Only small and micro-cap companies monitor chat groups. Or companies that are already in trouble who view that one way of trying to get their stock price higher is by persecuting their critics. Blue chip companies like PFE, GE, BELL, banks etc.couldn't care less what you or I say on chat groups. They cater to the big money and influential money managers, analysts, and investment advisors. So don't get your head too big thinking SI forums are the ultimate source for the world to hear what you have to say about Antares. Micro cap companies and juniors monitor chat groups because they're more sensitive to retail investors. The fact that SI may have market share in traffic among all the financial chat groups, doesn't necessarily mean that chat groups are influential on stock prices. If this is all it takes (chat stocks up, or down) then we've found the answer haven't we? IMO, chat groups are great for social and research needs for small investors. But they mean zilch for the big money people. Surely you don't think that the brokerage analysts are monitoring what you're saying on this thread are you?

>>For the business to grow the image has to be positive. Part of the mandate for management is to ensure public information (which will assist with growth) does NOT consist of libelous statements.<<

Is this why you're bolding the text of the sorts of tripe that you pump on this thread regularly? Like, if the image is positive, then, even if no gold, then the stock price should go up? How long have you been putting on the happy face on this stock? Has it helped it go up?

>>The BIG shareholders are holding because they are thinking with their brains.<<

Like watching the stock price fall for 4 years to pennies? Are you sure you've been using the brain, and not some other organ?
