Although I do not deny that the downside is here and could get quite bad, the numbers shown is not a fair comparison and seems to be selected to fit the presentation. For example, 1987 crash was followed by significant short-term recovery so using 34 days will not show the amount of fall (in any case, neither the number of days not the % fall is constant so it is not a scientific comparison).

This index represents a basket of all major currencies versus the dollar exchange rate. During the prior 12 trading days the greenback has fallen nearly 10% in value. Undoubtedly, this must command everyone's attention. Something that may not yet be public knowledge is weakening the heretofore almighty buck. Some stealth force is forcing the over-valued US dollar to more logical levels. This is a dramatic change when you think about it -- the greenback lost nearly one per cent daily for over two weeks. Something is definitely afoot. >>
