Valueman, I take it there's a difference in UPS(s)? [See, I knew I was in trouble when I called United Parcel Service to order one of the damn things and they hung up on me.] Okay, so I'll try another vendor, but what's a "good one"? This question is more than academic since my boys at Micron hinted heavily that they would be less than enthusiastic 2nd time around should another surge lay the old PC low. Given my Marginal Propensity to Consume Cheap Stuff[MPCCS-technical econ term]I was headed to WalMart for whatever was on sale. Apparently, a quality doo-hickey is indicated--what be one?
One other question. My new toy has an internal Zip drive that stores stuff on 100MB disks. My C drive is sporting 6.4GB. At the risk of revealing that I may be mathematically challenged, how does one put 10 pounds in a 5 pound sack? Or are you telling me that you backed yourself up on (in this example) 64 zip disks? Isn't that a trifle cumbersome? I think I'd have more fun going to the MSFT site and downloading the Outlook '98 fix. :)
Note to Jeff: your snide football season comments notwithstanding, please note that Surfer Mike's newly installed Technical Tip of the Week feature has already generated a virtual outpouring of learned commentary and intense interest. And besides the 49'ers are undefeated in '98 so neener-neener. SM
