Hi Scrapps - I have been accumulating 3COMS at prices below $25 and continue to add to my position at those levels.

I was a bit confused by Gruntal's report stating "... still waiting for management to reveal large enterprise story..." and "...one would be hard pressed to know that 3Com has a large enterprise story at all..." . I have been trying to figure out the complete story as well and maybe you and the rest of the thread can help in answering Gruntal's concerns.

After attending the San Jose ATM tradeshow earlier this year, I came away with 3COM high on my list of companies demanding further research. They were the only vendor that had their bases covered with xdsl and cable modems, ATM switch equipment, a host of young and dynamic engineers and are undervalued based on industry fundamentals (probably due to their current consolidation of the USRX merger and recent inventory problems).

Building on the enterprise is very important for 3COM. I noticed that their new stacker switches configured well with the high end SUNW servers. I verified this with the SUNW representatives at the show. They also told me that 3COM switches were used by many of their customers and both companies worked together to provide overall enterprise solutions. 3COM needs to leverage off these relationships and "toot" their own horn on these successful installations.

Some more posts on 3Com's move into the larger enterprise sector would be helpful.

Here is a recent statement from the company Aug. 7 at the 3rd Annual "Networking Connections" Conference for Financial Analysts. Look's like they have a pretty good strategy for this sector.

"...3Com Corporation (NASDAQ:COMS - news) outlined its strategies for continuing to lead the industry in providing networking and Internet access solutions for small- to medium-sized enterprises and for individuals..."
