Good deduction. I am not a plaintiff's lawyer. My practice is mostly "transactional" such as banking, real estate, secured lending and securities matters. I avoid litigation like the plague and generally consider myself to have failed the client if I am unable to resolve business disputes short of litigation. That is not the attitude I observe in most plaintiff's lawyers. With respect to law school faculty, the standing joke amongst most lawyers I know is that if you can't DO anything (in terms of legal practice) then you either get nominated to the bench or you teach. Sadly many of our colleagues do tend to lose the perspective which serves them so well in business and become very liberal upon becoming judges and teachers. Most of us don't want to go through that painful process of becoming "liberalized" because we've all heard that having large portions of your brain removed like that can be painful. <GGG> JLA
