** Last research post pre-News - and my BIGGEST - Santa's here!!!! **

I have a new source - sitting on close to 100,000 NIR - yet another who is going to the grave with me.

It's all over - our long wait is at an end. NIR *WILL BE* halted on Monday just prior to the TSE open with News on Tuesday. At 1 PM today there was a short position of 290,000 on NIR - though this may have been reduced with some shorts covering this afternoon. However, given the volume at lunch and at the close the short position may still be over 200k.

Here's the spin to next week. Napier has decided to nail the shorts and "shove it where the sun doesn't shine" by halting Monday - and NOT on Tuesday or Wednesday - a deft play on there part.

HA HA HA - NIR gets the last laugh.

Look for a juicy post-News open.

Investors in the US are looking for value growth stocks - NOW - not next month. Given the state of the markets over the last couple of weeks NIR stands out as one of the few shining beacons in the US my source said. The NYSE and Nasdaq both closed higher today - off their intraday highs - with the Nasdaq in positive territory all day - and the Dow just slipping below it's open a tad between 2:30 and 3:30 PM before finishing on a small gain for the day. The recent correction may have bottomed with the Nasdaq leading the recovery. Look for a flood of US$$ coming into NIR next week.

Yes - I've called for a trading halt before. However, that was at a time when I had lost touch with Napier while I was focusing on ICI and Aquasol - and I predicted a halt pre-News around the time of the Calgary Oil Show. If I had remained closer to Napier I wouldn't have made that call. While I haven't spoken to Jason in a little while - I have been a tad annoyed with the `News in two weeks' thing over the last several weeks - but all is forgiven now. There have been suggestions during the last several weeks that the glorious day was just around the corner, for example the one-day volume surges, but nothing happened. However, there has been a sustained volume surge over the last three days - peaking today - everyone has seen that for themselves.

The shorts can come on and trash me and the other long side posters or Napier as much as they like - it's over now - you're toast.

Look for a trading halt on NIR by the TSE on Monday at 9:29 AM or thereabouts.

NIR - YOU GO BABY!!!!

Till tomorrow,

David :-)
