It would seem that
1. amzn has no f---in idea how it's going to survive and is therefore making fairly scattered acquisitions
and/or
2. it has moved into a different industry. it's a shop bot which is commited to NOT searching for the lowest price (bezos' quote not mine) or simply one of many e malls. if that's the case, then either way, AOL (and msn, yhoo, lcos, nscp, etc.) now is the competition.

Then invest in this high-risk, high reward (ha!) speculation. Seems like you are swinging a bat wildly - purely a momentum speculation at this point.
