I stand corrected, Archer deserves to share the limelight as well. I am actually fairly new to this thread, so I misses his earlier work on this fetid heap.

Beware of "Snake Oil" and "Black Box" Salesmen

I suggest everyone take a long look at SRCM's history of fraudulent press releases and statements which were promotional in nature, and knowingly false and untrue when they were made. Here are just a few of their fraudulent statements...

1. Jan 13 SRCM Press Release, "The Interactive Channel is the only commercial, market-tested programming service designed for the digital cable platform." IMO this is Fraud. At that time the Interactive Channel was not designed or "market" tested on a digital cable platform. Furthermore, all Interactive Channel tests with cable systems proved to be failures.

2. SRCM Promotes "phenomenal subscriber growth" in Colorado Springs Interactive Cable test and in a press release indicates the . IMO this was fraud. The Colorado Springs Project was later canceled due to lack of subscriber interest.

3. July 28 Press Release:

"The Interactive Channel is an interactive cable TV programming service designed for today's digital cable TV programming tiers, and has carriage agreements with Century Communications Corporation, Marcus Cable Company L.P. and Cablevision Systems Corporation."

Century Cable project in Colorado Springs was terminated by Century Cable April 1, 1998. Century was formerly Cablevision, thus both Cablevision and Century have effectively terminated services with SRCM's Interactive Channel.

Marcus Cable was purchased in April for $2.78 billion by Microsoft Corp. co-founder Paul Allen who has recently purchased Charter Communications for $4.5 billion. Paul Allen claims in a July 30 press release he will "combine it (Charter) with Marcus Cable Co. as part of a plan to marry cable TV systems with new interactive multimedia technologies." Charter is rolling out WorldGate's interactive TV service in 7 markets...

Like snake oil salesmen, and the infamous BREX, SRCM HYPES a "Black Boxes", mysterious cable contracts and their super duper patents.

They started by HYPING the Interactive Channel, when it failed, they instead called it a success and avoided more attention on the subject by moving on to a new promotion. The new promotion? Constant hints and promises of new carriage contracts - notice they always have a rumor floating of a "Big Deal" they are about to sign - or a buyout by one of the "majors", or investment in their company by one of the "majors". This rumor mongoring is BS. Not one single rumor has panned out.

When they were unable to sign any new carriage agreements, they began their promotion of the "Virtual Modem", a "black box" that will supposedly provide internet access via cable TV.

Problem is it has NEVER been tested or deployed on a cable system and reportedly requires too much memory to function properly in a settop box.

Am I the only person that sees this as a disturbing trend of HYPE PROMOTION and RUMORS? All of their promises and "snake oil" promotions have failed. None of the rumors have been true, but the company has benefited. Management is paid huge bonuses based on increasing the price of the stock, and if the stock to trade above $20 for to days they get to exercise warrants and raise 25.85 million bucks.

Don't be one of the suckers that goes down with this mess. The writing is on the wall here - and there are many, many other good investments in this market. Be wise.

Best of Luck Steve

All Comments Are Sincerely IMO...

Mr. Pluvia, there is so much Love on the thread that Mr. Pink is overwhelmed with warmth for His fellow shorts. You comments on Archer's good works and your nomination for distinction have not gone un-noticed.

Accordingly, it is with much satisfaction that, on behalf of His various affiliates, associates, operatives in the field that Mr. Pink award Acher the much coveted Pinky Award for public service in connection with uncovering and disseminating information on Source Media.

Congratulations, Archer!!

I hope you shorts have had your fun and have your buy orders ready because this stock is going to go up and your asses are going to get squeezed tighter than an olympic gymnast (who happens to be a virgin). I gotta hand it to ya, you've taken advantage of an easy opportunity and I assume done quite well with it. Here's some free advice; COVER. You say it's all a scam and management is looking to cash out, one of you even called SRCM's shareholders "foolish". Would that person (and I use that term loosely) care to call Fidelity (that's the mutual fund out of Boston) and tell them how foolish they are. Now I first bought this stock at $5 so I'm up at 17 1-2 but I'll be happier when I see you fools silenced then I will be when I sell at $30.(I managed to sell only 1000 of my 12,500 shares on the run-up getting that off at 34 7-8. I guess you think Prudential is in on the "scam" along with all those bucket shop promoters like Southeast Research Partners. I did my own research on Southeast a small research boutique with about 15 analysts. Of the 15, 2 are current and another 4 are previous "Istitutional Investor" All-Stars as you see ranked in the Wall Street Journal. I also spoke to a friend of mine who happens to head the marketing department of a mid-sized small cap fund. Southeast is one of their favorite firms. Funny, that doesn't sound like a scam outfit to me. But back to Prudential, They went from Buy to Strong Buy last week w/a $25 target SRCM presented the technology in San Fransisco Friday and word is they met w/ some of the major tech firms (you idiots know who's in S.F. right? H&Q, Montgommerry,) thogh I don't know for what reason. Lazard is their current investment banker so my guess would be that one of these heavy hitters could initiate coverage; that's after of course they accumulate a few hundred thousand. They present in New York Wednesday. The stock acted well in a tough market at the end of the week. My guess is we see some news next week (an MSO agreement with a top cable company is my hunch. The beauty of owning a heavily shorted stock which is moving up on good news is that EVERYONE'S buying it. The people who like it are averaging up/down 'cause theyv'e seen it run to 39 and the people (like you) who don't like it are buying it to cover their shorts(asses). I wouldn't be surprised to see it run almost as fast as it did before. The stock appears to have support at $16. If it wasn't for those damn margin calls I'd buy more (I own it from as low as $5 1-2 and as high as $22 w/an average cost of $11.13. One more thing Mr. Short if AOL does happen to buy this company and your still short, does that mean that you would be short AOL? That's a pleasant thought, sweet dreams and goodnight.

I am also glad that you highlighted posts by RJC, who seems to have been the first short to post on SRCM.

Regards,

Archer
