I agree with Barry. When given the choice between investing in AMD or INTC, go with the Gorilla. You will win (almost) every time.

Its the same reason that I'm invested in Rambus. Rambus has the potential to become a Gorilla stock. Even if competitors come up with a slightly better mousetrap in a few years, Rambus will already own the proprietary position and have name recognition. Its tough to compete with that. AMD could make a much better chip than Intel, and yet most consumers would still want a computer with "Intel Inside".

Don't get me wrong. Intel is the best. I've owned the stock for many years. I just thought the IBD article was interesting. Intel really doesn't like making cheap chips. The article says the Celeron isn't doing that great. And this was the first time AMD had something better than Intel. The K6 is selling well for AMD but not enough there to offset their other products. What I was saying was I enjoy the price breaks the competition has brought.
