a partnership?????

Where does this kind of ca-ca come from. Dell has no plans for partnerships in order to compete with CPQ. Dell seems to be throttling CPQ pretty well now. Momentum players will not capitulate on such news. THERE ARE NO MOMENTUM PLAYERS IN DELL OR THE MARKET NOW. THERE IS NO MOMENTUM.

THE LACK OF PRE EARNINGS MOMENTUM PLAYERS IS DEFINITELY HURTING DELL.My hope is that the "mo" players will hop on after earnings becuase mkt conditions have improved and the earnings/split/forward looking comments were sooo good.

DELL acquisition

Zalesky: re your The question I'm sure a few investors have on their minds is: Will Dell go shopping for a partner to compete with CPQ????

Anyone who has done DD on DELL knows it ain't gonna happen. What company can you name that would improve DELL's model or performance? Go back and read the HBR article. Read the transcript of this year's annual meeting. Read the report (on this thread) of last year's annual meeting. Read the annual report itself. Then, please name a company, the acquisition of which would improve DELL's efficiency, and the integration of which would not act as a drag or hindrance on focus and execution.

"To compete with CPQ???" Surely you jest. Go back and review IDC data for the past 3-4 years.
