But I wouldn't short a stock unless I knew it was
going to go my way in a short time. For me, a short time is a few days or 2-3 weeks.

Tom,

This was the original plan. Clearly, it did not work out that way.

But whether traders or long-term investors, we need more discussions about catalysts.

You 100% correct. This is what we do need. Everyday feels like throwing a dice rather than making a calculated decision based on something. I go long and short based on gut feeling. That is surely not investing. It is gambling and I get free drinks when I do that in Vegas<VBG>

It is anything but a lousy post. It only feels lousy as you wrote it because you are
grappling with the terrifying issue which most bears on this thread don't want to face:
Every potential catalyst for the collapse of this stock has failed so far. First catalyst was
going to be the end of the original 180 day lockup for insider selling. Then it was going
to be a post-holiday slump (i.e. poor revenue growth Q198 vs Q497). Then it was going
to be competition from BKS. Then the insider selling window this past week. And there
have been others.

I never counted on the insiders selling as a catalyst although many others have. I counted on the market coming to its senses in general. It is starting to appear that H, James is more correct than ever. He has insisted the price of the stock will be maintained by the controllers until they are willing to let it go. Bullet proof is the word he used. I have never seen anything like this but bullet proof it is. The question may be what catalyst is needed for the controllers to let it go?
