<<The bible is actually not just one book it is 66 books written over the span of 2000 years and each individual claims to have had contact with a Being who states He is the creator of all things.>>

Ahh yes, they really had some good opium in the old days didn't they.

I thought it would only be a matter of time before some Bible Thumper dropped by and extolled the virtues of god/God/Buddah/Tree God/Gate Keeper etc.

But that's O.K., some sad part of humanity needs its' crutches and can only quote scripture.

smiling inside!

Life really is what YOU make of it, don't try looking in a 2000 year old book to make you happy. It's probably sitting in the chair across from you or calling you for help after they've banged their knee .

Just checking your profile, I see we come from different ends of the spectrum.

I have read the Bible from cover to cover, most of what I suspect was very common practices in the days it was written. I believe Christianity is an invention of mankind, not God, to control the hearts and minds of the masses, through mostly fear. Oh, and throw in a little reward system, like if you are real good, you might go to heaven someday.

Also, crucifixion was a very common and usual way to execute criminals in the so-called Biblical days. So that doesn't prove the Christ was the Messiah. Only that the government in his day considered him a undesirable, a threat to the peace and stability of law and order.

Maybe, I sound cynical to you, but to me its a reality of life, so therefore, it gives meaning to my life. I consider myself a decent person, without God, I can love, care and nuture family, nature and myself.
