Paul,
Maybe you can check with your sources and see if Intel is "phasing down" production of the Pentium II-233-266-300 because of the introduction of Celeron "A" at 300-333...
Maybe they think demand will drop off for the lower speed grade Pentium IIs when the Celeron hits and have slowed down marking chips at those speed grades. Maybe they have stopped .35u...and those chips (Pent.II233-266-300). Waiting for your expanation.
Jim

Paul engel, re: PII chip shortages
Suppose this has anything to do with the "slow boat from China"?
With the Hong Kong airport fiasco I heard Intel was shipping by boat.
This also kind of checks with the announced availability from some of the vendors. Are PII's assembled in the PacRim?

Paul- I paid $86 for K6-266 MMX yesterday (Friday). I remembered
after I posted, that the K6 salesman (ASTAK) said I should have
bought thursday because they had just raised K6 prices. He didn't
say how much and I wasn't too upset because $86 for a 266MHz I felt
was pretty nice.
