Why would anyone, individual or company, pay $5 for this mutt?

Yes, a takeover would cause demand for the stock, but not to 10 times the current price.

As for what the acquirer would get from Syquest at this point, I can't imagine. The smart engineers are probably already history. There may be technology to pick up but it would be far better to wait for the Chapter 11 firesale.

Nope, this one is already past the point of no return. Sorry.

>>> As a stockholder in both, I am betting Iomega will acquire Syquest, probably at somewhere between $2. & $5. a share... ...Obviously, much of this is hypothetical, but a lot is based on fact and experience. <<<

Do you have any idea of how much money your talking about? ...the shares outstanding? ...the shares accounted for? ...their current financial situation? ...their expected massive September losses? ...their massive restructuring charges?

While it's certainly not out of the question that SyQuest could be acquired by Iomega or someone else, I believe common stock shareholders would be lucky to get anything close to current share value for their shares.

I may not have know all your "facts" or have nearly your "experience," so perhaps you might explain just what you believe SyQuest would be worth in a buyout (in terms of $).

Regards - Dale

>>A Vice-president of Syquest, as recent as this week, was meeting with Sr. Management at Iomega.<<

How do you know this?
