Evan,

Market Makers can use ISLD too. They will often times place large ISLD orders to kill or start momentum.

Hmmmmm. Maybe it's just what happens when a zillion day trading turkeys try to scalp the same 1/4. Just a guess.

Evan,

I think it's real selling.....institutional clients getting out of large tech positions....If you look at the NDX, it finished -1.8 on Friday, even though the Nasdaq was up 17 on the day..... The four horsemen were all down on the day. (anyone notice ?)

The last couple of days sure wasn't much of a bounce for the high volume selloff we've had.

BTW, if it were just a co-ordinated trading firm effort, they'd have to buy back after shorting, so I don't think that's the answer...There's some big selling into rallies, you're right.

Evan,

The real story the past month is how the 4 horsemen are gapping/thrusting from one price level to another all day in very wide channels. The inside b/a, on average, on these is higher (IMO) than in the last 3-4 months as the MM's ramp them back and forth.
