Jerome writes that " For now KLIC's balance sheet looks terrible, "

The balance sheet looks great compared to the stock price. I see net assets which approximate closely to the market cap of KLIC. Book value is around 13. Very little debt. Good cash position.

Now the income statement may start looking worse in coming quarters. But assuming you expect KLIC to continue in business and a turn around in semi equip oneday, then this is an extreme bargain price for the long term. Not to even mention the daily trading opportunities with limited downside risk.

Jerome,
Thanks for the wise words... will take them to heart... my comment about 1.2xbook in 1996 as reason to load up on KLIC being "simple minded" may be appropriate but not necessarily a personal attack... it is very simple minded... doesnt mean a simple mind produced the simplistic construct... like saying the last time the New England Patriots were in the Super Bowl they got shut out almost by Chicago Bears... so against GBPackers look for a shutout... world is a vastly difference place in 1998 than 1996

yes, equips are oversold... reason to buy at those lows in shorterm... my technical bear triangle was tested and did not break... I lost... I see this latest bounce off the bottom as a prelude to a wider bottom again at 14 for KLIC... we will see in a couple months

I also believe a lot of PR has been spun recently about business recovering... putting best face on a near vanishing act... more like business is about to show a Labor Day blip up... the business is in wretched shape and likely to worsen... that is my opinion... easy to be right and lose money

but thanks for the constructive comment / Jim Willie
