Went to two Radio Shacks: Qualcomms are sold out but could we interest you in these Sony Samsung Sprints? (What does NYC get, 2 phones per store? No wonder my stock's not appreciating!) I said should I go all PCS or Dual Mode? Say I call someone in non- coverage area; doesn't the PCS interface with POTS HERE, thus completing call to regular phone in non-coverage area? No, I was told: antenna HERE picks up signal, sends through PCS network to antenna in destination area, then interfaces w/POTS. So if there's no PCS antenna near your friend, even though they have POTS, you're sh*t outta luck. That's REALLY REALLY REALLY dumb. But could it be TRUE?????????
