I think that the article was not journalistic, but contained snippets that supported a point-of-view. I didn't see much commentary on what is going on these days, it just starts out, "well everything is going to break".

One interesting thing from gary's post:

"By the time forward thinkers have confirmation that they were right, it'll be too late to take action because Joe Sixpack will want to sell stocks/funds, make a withdrawal, buy some extra food, water, fuel etc. etc. etc."

I think that it's true that Joe Sixpack now has stocks and funds! Welcome to the 90's!

Gary,

I, too, found the logic and observations quite painful to entertain. My greatest hope is that this analysis is, ultimately, very wrong. My greatest fear is that it is not all that far off the mark.

In any event, we'll know soon enough, should the items on this road map occur and trends continue as they have.

"A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it." - Proverbs 22:3.

In this context and at this juncture, prudence dictates monitoring the situation closely and taking at least some precautions.
