>>I'm not one to trust a management team easily, but I still think the odds of Silverman turning things around are excellent. <<

The same Silverman that did this?

5-Feb-98 SILVERMAN HENRY R Sold (S)647,000 Common 36.08 $23,343,760
6-Feb-98 SILVERMAN HENRY R Sold (S)1,053,000 Common 36.16$38,076,479

That's 1.7mm shares dumped before the first whiff of carrion hit the market. No, he didn't sell at the top, but neither did he know when the axe was going to fall.

The press writes of Silverman having trouble sleeping and being bound and determined to win back Cendant's credibility. But with $60,000,000 in the bank, he might have a little less trouble sleeping than he lets on, methinks.

Mike, you're the first one to cry foul at the slightest hint of anything wrong, and you have no problem with this picture?

Please, do not criticize the management team of any of my companies again. Your choice of who to trust leaves you no leeway for attacking others.

Sincerely,
Rick
