Djane, I would not be surprised, if european companies (ERICY,ALA,NOKIA) might force the issue before LU has a chance on 10/1/98. Then LU has to come with a better offer. If LU can hold its share price it is lot cheaper for LU to buy ASND, since LU appreciated as much as ASND this year and others like ERICY, ALA have to pay from their ears. NOKIA is one exception their stock has skyrocketed.
Ultimately we might get one share of LU for one share of ASND. or one share of NOKIA for one share of ASND.( If NOKIA is interested in this area).

TLAB may be another interesting technological fit, it may not be well received by the street since it will become merger of equals.

Very interesting month coming up. I feel if they can execute, ASND has more upside than $80-90/share on their own. Then again you never know what management's feelings are.

Either way, ASND will be higher in September.
BR.

<Bindusagar and the thread, can you say bidding war for ASND>

If these 5 companies are interested in ASND, are they being polite waiting for LUcy, to make it a fair fight?

Companies interested in BAY may have no interest in ASND. For example, I can't see Intel wanting into the ASND's carrier space, but bidding for BAY's enterprise space.

I hope I'm wrong.
