Gregory, what I keep hearing from you is you seem to be saying "I am interested in the Jesus thing. It seems like it produces something good in some people, but I can't see how you people got there, and it is not worth the struggle to begin to give up this and that and weed out most of my life and become a pious bore, maybe, when all I have to do with pagan gods is just do anything I want and now and then talk about spiritual things and ancient philosophies with others who feel the same way."
Well, first of all you are totally and complete wrong, and all of the giving up, so to speaks, comes AFTER developing the love relationship with first Jesus Christ, which then leads to a direct relationship with the Heavenly Father of Jesus Christ, and things are not "given up", they are willingly hauled off to the dump to clean up the property once again.
This fighting incessantly with God about what you DON'T want to willingly give up right now, of course, is a lot better than those-- probably even very nearby on the threads here and there-- who have literally sold their soul for more sex, money and power in their personal lives. Through serving satan and doing very terrible things, and dedicating the rest of their lives to the full time occupation of blasting Jesus Christ, among other things they can't and won't discuss.
But, if you keep following pagan gods, like you refer to the India-Indian thing, well REALLY research it. I personally as some may know here and practically all of my very close friends know, was utterly and absolutely taken in by someone who may have lived and who may not have lived, from the Americanized Hindu teachings. I was about as taken in as you get. I look back on it now and it's horrible. Look at Hinduism as a forensic study. Look at what they REALLY do. Look at how they REALLY have represented "god", if they REALLLY even present any actual concept of a "god" at all. Study the
"devotes" who today daily feed rats, believing they are their "god" running around in a filthy rat body, diseased and despised, and check out Kali, and why "she/he/it" is reprsented forever with severed heads dripping blood. I can't discuss any more. RESEARCH your dear Hindu culture at the local library for a day. Perhaps you will things that leave you in shock thinking about it.
Look at the high dollar glossy books for the intelligencia on all of the Hindu religions as they are today. Not as they have been sanitized, Jesus-ized, mixed with so much scripture you can hardly translate Paramahansa Yogananadad'a (sp? who cares?) writings from most idiots who misquote scripture and throw in Thomas Jefferson's cleanliness is next to godliness, etc., and in the end it seems very much like it is Christ-like.

You will notice that almost everywhere he goes he is desguised as Jesus Christ, yet the only way you can actually recobnize him unless you are a bible scholar, is that as he comes desguised as Jesus, acting and talking like Jesus, he is also constantly preaching that Jesus is chopped liver and must not be taken too seriously as there are better places to go.
