Big Bucks, and others, What would happen if Intc would move into any of the ASIA countries and buy up some of the current FABS, convert them to them to .18, 300 (12 in) wafer with 128 or 256 ram chip or other combination? Wouldn't that place the 16, and/or 64 ram chip producers out of business? The above may reflect my ignorance of the semi business but I was wondering if INTC purchased at a fire sale and converted them, with low labor cost they would make tons of $$$$. Naturally, this would have tremendous negative influence on the US labor market.

I can see GM and other Global corporations doing similar things since the US firms are now competing on a Global scale. Maybe it is time for the Pacific Rim to Unionize to raise Wages so they will meet US wages.

Just my thoughts for today. Please don't flame!<GG>

Any comments?
