I noticed the same pattern last year, but I haven't looked at prior years. As I recall last year in the Spring was when they introduced the sub $1000 PC and then around May they announced 5 or so systems to be ready to blitz the market for back to school in the Fall and Xmas. I think there was one more announcement at beginning summer that clued me to watch them carefully. Needless to say I missed the BIG rise in Summer/Fall but finally bounced in on the rebound in Nov/Dec (trading) and then suckered in Feb after the Dec buy announcement.

Does this mean that they try to coincide their retail marketing plan with school and holiday buying? Could be... and this year it may work because of the Dec purchase being accretive by year's end as well. I'm in for the ride as well...

BUT why have they made a sub $1000 PC which is found to be the slowest in the latest PCMag review of the genre? How silly to shoot themselves in the foot over this machine.... it should be the shining star of the offerings!

I wonder if we'll see any newswire pick up on that review....
