on Microsoft, monopolies and what Janet Reno and the European governments might do to Mighty Q. Well worth reading. Why L M Ericsson, Nokia, some Korean companies have been whining about Qualcomm being greedy over patents. Is whining dignified? Will it pay?

Raymond, I don't suggest L M Ericsson will steal Qualcomm's IPR in defiance of law. They will only steal it with the complicity of the governments involved who can render it public property anytime they choose. See the process $ill Gates is going through. Robbery is when property is removed from someboy who owns it against their will. The fact that democratic governments have the blessing of, usually, a majority doesn't change the fact of robbery. In undemocratic states, the robbery is simply a matter of decision by the powerful.

I'm betting that the USA government will defend their medal winning hero, Irwin Jacobs and his pals, Andrew Viterbi, Klein Gilhousen, and others who created cdmaOne.

Jon, in an earlier report on the Eudora attachment virus problem, it said there were 500,000 Eudora 4.0 users. This report said 10 million commercial users. I wonder which it is. I don't believe the 10m if there are only about 18m total users of Eudora. I don't believe the 18m because that figure has been around for a year or maybe two.

So, just how many paying Eudora customers are there? How many Eudora Light users are there? There must be some surveys and Qualcomm must have them showing how many are using what and what features are important. All we ever get is a big silence.
