Bob,
We can all come up with a horror story about a guilty person who was not dealt with harshly enough to fit the crime. I am all for the death penalty in such cases as you described. No excuses such as bad childhood and so forth. But I am not talking about the rights of criminals bob. I am talking about the rights of innocent people (we are all innocent until proven guilty) who are accused of crimes and then are steam rolled for a conviction by a corrupt system. Judge and prosecutor scheme to exclude evidence that is favorable to the defense, law enforcement agencies fabricate evidence and lie on the stand to get a conviction because they think the person is guilty, rationalizing that the end justifies the means. Except they convicted an innocent person. These types of abuses are all documented and even the FBI is implicated in it. Then of course the murder by the FBI and BATF of dozens of innocent men, women and children at Waco, Tx. Who went to jail for that? Nobody. Who went to jail for the killing of an innocent woman at Ruby Ridge? Nobody. The price of freedom is eternal vigilance. Take off the blinders. This has gone too far. We cannot let the government abuse it's power and persecute the innocent in the name of law enforcement. Otherwise this corrupt system which the people allow can then be used to persecute for political and religious reasons (which it can be rationalized that Waco was religious persecution).

cya,

Bob
